After last Friday’s snowstorm forced the Watford City varsity wrestling team to pull out of their match with Carrington and Saturday’s Carrington Tournament, the Wolves will be back on the mat this Thursday when they host the Killdeer Cowboys, the No. 1 ranked team from Region 4, as part of a triangular meet.
The triangular, which will also feature New Town, will begin at 6 p.m. with exhibition matches, with the Watford City vs. New Town dual set for 6:30 p.m. followed by the New Town vs. Killdeer match, and then the Watford City vs. Killdeer match.
The Wolves varsity and junior varsity will then compete in the Dickinson High School “Classic” Tournament on Friday and Saturday, while the junior high team will compete in a Sidney Tournament on Saturday.
The Dickinson Tournament starts Friday at 2:30 p.m. (CT) with two rounds of varsity and two rounds of junior varsity action. Saturday’s action will begin at 10 a.m. (CT) with semifinal matches scheduled for noon.
Competing in Dickinson will be 20 North Dakota Class A teams, six North Dakota Class B teams, six South Dakota teams, including two from Rapid City, as well as Minnesota’s Robinsdale Cooper.
The junior high tournament in Sidney will begin at 11 a.m. (CT).
