Watford City definitely had its bats going Saturday afternoon as the Wolves scored 13 runs on 13 hits to open their 2014 season with a big win over Bottineau.
After leading the Sioux, 4-2, after the first inning, the Wolves upped their lead to 5-2 at the end of the second inning.
But a huge seven-run third inning provided the Wolves the cushion that would carry Watford City to the win.
Tori Hopkins picked up the win on the mound for the Wolves as she gave up just six hits and four walks, while striking out 11 batters in the seven inning game.
At the plate, Hopkins went four of five including three singles and one triple, while scoring two runs for the Wolves. Tarynn Jacobson went three of four including a single, double and triple, while scoring two runs.
