PATRICE'S PERSPECTIVE

PATRICE'S PERSPECTIVE

Hello friends, I love the holidays! It’s magical this time of year. I have noticed that from Thanksgiving through the New Year, people in general always seem to be happier.
Maybe it’s the Spirit of Giving that makes people happier. During the holiday season people seem to be looking for reasons to help a fellow human out in all kinds of ways.
I notice people all around town donating to the Salvation Army’s Red Kettle Campaign, or the WCPD Blue Santa program, or the Eagles Auxiliary Giving Tree. And it’s not just monetary gifts. People are more giving of their time as they find ways to volunteer, whether it be shoveling a neighbors driveway, offering a ride to someone in need, carrying out groceries for the mom behind you with her hands full, or even opening a door for a random stranger.
Social media is always buzzing with ways that people can be of service to others during the holiday season. Facebook is flooded with people who donate piles of clothing, furniture, or food to someone who is in need.
