McKenzie County Public School District No. 1 (MCPSD1) has received 24 Strider bikes as part of a grant from Governor Doug Burgum, using the Governor’s Emergency Education Relief (GEER) Fund. This grant is part of the governor’s vision to place the All Kids Bike Learn-to-Ride Kindergarten PE Program in every school.
MCPSD1 stated that the program has a $9,000 cost, but the entire program was covered by the grant received from the governor. This set of programs has made it possible for MCPSD1 to receive all 24 student bikes, pedal conversion kits, helmets, one teacher instructional bike, two metal rolling storage racks, complete curriculum and lesson plans along with online training instructional courses.
