Hillside Apartments to undergo repair assessment

The McKenzie County Board of Commissioners has approved an assessment to be conducted on Hillside Apartments to determine how much work is needed to update the facility and make it safe for those living there. The county-owned senior and disabled living facility near the courthouse in Watford City is over 50 years old and members of the Housing Board say it is showing its age.
The request for the assessment was made during the Oct. 3, McKenzie County Board of County Commissioners (BOCC) meeting.
“Hillside Court is a valuable asset for the county, providing housing for seniors and the disabled,” said Michon Sax, member of the county Housing Board. “As a board, we would like to have the support of the commissioners to have an assessment done to figure out what needs to be done to make the apartments safe for residents.”
