“When I was a child, my friend’s younger brother was able to have a wish granted through Make-a-Wish. So, he and his family went to Disney World and when they came back, they talked about how amazing it was.
“I saw how much of an impact that had on their lives, not only for my friend’s brother, but the whole family. I knew then that this was something I wanted to be able to help others do in the future. I am both honored and excited that I have the opportunity to do that now,” said Kira Stenehjem Noll of Watford City.
She has been selected to be on the Make-A-Wish Foundation of North Dakota Board of Directors.
The Make-A-Wish foundation is a nonprofit organization that grants wishes to children diagnosed with a critical illness that puts the child’s life in jeopardy. According to the Make-A-Wish website, “A wish experience can be a game-changer for a child with a critical illness. This one belief guides us in everything we do at Make-A-Wish. It inspires us to grant life-changing wishes for children going through so much. It compels us to be creative in exceeding the expectations of every wish kid. It drives us to make our donated resources go as far as possible. Most of all, it’s the founding principle of our vision to grant the wish of every eligible child.”
