Here’s a not-so-bold prediction: Donald Trump is going to be the Republican nominee for President. He won by a record setting 30 points in Iowa. This displays a level of enthusiasm among the Republican faithful that supersedes anything Mitt Romney, John McCain, George W. Bush or Bob Dole ever had. The great Ronald Reagan didn’t even win the Iowa caucus in 1980 or 1984.
What does this tell us? It’s among the greatest political comebacks in American history. Trump was written off by the left and is maligned daily by the media. Many on the right said he was done. “It’s time to move on” they said. But the author of the “America First” movement wasn’t done yet. He rescued a Republican party that was wandering in the wilderness. He fundamentally changed so many things for the better and widened our tent for more people to join the movement. President Trump had a hefty record of accomplishment in the face of an onslaught that no President before has faced. He is battle tested like no other candidate can claim to be. The left has written the playbook by using lawfare, “emergency power” changes to election law, impeachment shams and wasteful, baseless special prosecutions. Do you think they’re going to play nice if a different Republican is President? Not a chance.
