Hello friends, I write today from the comfort my couch covered in four throw blankets. Why? Because it is literally 50 degrees below freezing outside. Last week I was having a great conversation with our Sheriff, and before he left my office he advised me to stay home over the weekend if I could. I most certainly took that advice.
Did you know when the temperature combined with windshield is approximately -65 degrees it only takes a mere five minutes before any exposed skin starts to get frostbite.
Frostbite has three stages according to the Mayo Clinic. Stage one, is known as Frostnip and considered to be mild frostbite that irritates and changes the color of skin, followed by a cold feeling and numbness. Frostnip does not permanently damage the skin and can be treated.
