“I am so happy we are celebrating and learning about the culture of our Hispanic friends in Watford City,” said local resident Robin Schmidt  of the Hispanic Advocacy of North Dakota (HAND) group that recently formed and was featured at last week’s Watford Market.
As Schmidt and her two children enjoyed some churros being served several Folklorico dancers in festive dresses took the stage to perform for the community.
“I’m excited for it, especially since our Census numbers show our Hispanic population has increased over 1,000 percent since 2010,” says Daniel Stenberg, McKenzie County economic developer of HAND.
