The McKenzie County Soil Conservation District is hosting their Cowgirls ’n Conservation event on Friday Jan. 26, at the McKenzie County Ag Expo. This annual event  is focussed toward the women of the community, whether they are from Ag families or not.
“We started this 12 years ago, and it is the McKenzie County Soil Conservation District and the Natural Resources Conservation Service, and we wanted to have an outreach event that was specifically geared more toward women,” explained Nikki Darrington, the district conservationist for the Natural Resources Conservation Service. “When we started it, out goal was to have 30 people there, and just have an event that we ate together, had a little fellowship, maybe a speaker, had something fun, and now it has snowballed to us selling 200 tickets for this event.”
