Bakken Area Skills Center to be completed end of December

The Bakken Area Skills Center (BASC) is on track to be completed in December as originally planned according to Superintendent of McKenzie County Public School District No. 1 (MCPSD), Steve Holen. “The BASC facility will be completed by the end of December with classes proposed out of the Center itself starting in mid-January 2024.”
The BASC is going to be the center of the Bakken Area Skills Center Regional Career and Technical Education (CTE) program. This program will include 10 school districts and has been in operation since July 2023.
According to Holen, the CTE center provides online or virtual class options. Additionally, there is the capacity for mobile trailers to be used with other resources to support the students learning with hands-on experience.
