Breaking News: Charges filed in death of local woman

The McKenzie County Farmer has learned that charges have been filed in relation to the suspicious death of a local woman in September.
On Thursday, Nov. 16, a warrant of arrest was issued and served on Scott Richard Beane, of Watford City.
Beane has been charged with a Class AA Felony for Murder - intentional, knowing, or with extreme indifference-adult victim.
Beane was charged with a Class C Felony for unlawful possession of a firearm on Sept. 13, after law enforcement responded to a report of a female found deceased within a residence.
Court documents indicate upon arrival, law enforcement located the deceased woman in the entryway of the residence with severe burns to the entirety of her body and noted nearby signs of a fire.
Beane’s initial court appearance on the murder charge is scheduled for today.
