Change of Plea hearing for Dylan Lobato cancelled

The Change of Plea Hearing that was scheduled for Wednesday, March 27, in relation to the State of North Dakota vs. Dylan Lobato of Watford City on charges of gross sexual imposition-sexual contact, force; burglary-night; terrorizing with a dangerous weapon and theft, was cancelled.
According to documents filed with the Northwest Judicial District a request to vacate the change of plea and sentencing hearing, stating that “the defendant has hired Chapman Law Firm, P.C. to represent his interests and does not wish to change his plea at this time,” was submitted on March 26.
A request to reset a trial date was also filed and granted through the court.
Lobato is now scheduled for a Pre-Trial Conference on July 18, 2024 and a Jury Trial is set for Sept. 30, 2024.
