City, county taxable sales climb in first quarter of 2022

Higher oil prices and increased drilling activity, as well as the rebound from COVID-19, is continuing to improve taxable sales and purchases across most of North Dakota, according to the latest data from the North Dakota Tax Department.
According to Brian Kroshus, state tax commissioner, North Dakota’s taxable sales and purchases for the first quarter of 2022 are up 13.2 percent compared to the same time frame in 2021. Taxable sales and purchases for January, February, and March of 2022 were $4,704,964,358 compared to $4,157,544,721 during the same three-month period in 2021.
