City lowers building fees for new homes

Building fee rates charged on new home construction in Watford City will be going down by 50 percent following action by the Watford City City Council during their monthly meeting on Monday, Feb.7.
The city had been asked by residential home developers to bring those fees down in order to spur more single-family home construction.
During a meeting of the city’s ordinance committee on Dec. 1, Steve Stenehjem with Stenehjem Development noted that Watford City had the highest permitting fees of any of the state’s largest cities.
