Local residents can expect to see the widening of some of Watford City’s roadways and repair of many bridges throughout the county this year.
“The two major construction projects for this year are the Main Street project and the Charlie Bob Creek Road,” says Curt Huus, McKenzie County engineer.
The cost of those two projects, Huus says, is approximately $10 million, with Main Street occupying a majority of those costs.
“Eight miles of Watford City’s Main Street from 4th Ave. to 30th Ave., along with two miles of the Charlie Bob Creek located east of Grassy Butte are going to be reconstructed,” says Huus, of the prioritized county projects.
“Charlie Bob Creek is another project that has federal funding and the reconstruction will make it safer,” Huus says.
