Driver’s license office moved to courthouse

While residents of McKenzie County once went to the Sanford Room, located inside of the McKenzie County Public Library, to renew their driver’s license, it can now be done by going to the Yellowstone Room, located on the first floor of the McKenzie County Courthouse in Watford City, beginning Sept. 2.
“We’ll have the same hours as before, however, we’re going to be by appointment only,” says Rachel Mount, North Dakota Department of Transportation operations manager.
Appointments will take place on the first and third Wednesday of every month from 9:40 a.m. to 3:40 p.m.
While the North Dakota Department of Transportation (NDDOT) originally planned to be up and running at its new location by Aug. 19, some technical difficulties put a slight delay on the process, Mount says.
Mount says that due to COVID-19, all persons coming to the driver’s license office will be required to wear a mask.
