The PRCA Extreme Bares and Broncs rodeo is taking place on March 23, at 7 p.m. at the McKenzie County Ag Expo. Organizer Stan Headings said, “I would describe it as action packed, thrilling, exciting, and I’m sure you will not be bored.”
According to Headings, because the event consists of only two events, there is more focus on making it a memorable and exciting show. He says the limited number of events allows them to focus on two of the most exciting parts of a rodeo, bares and broncs, and keep the show tight and action packed.
Extreme Bares and Broncs has been running annually since 2018, with a year off in 2020 due to Covid-19. This is the second year the event has been sanctioned by the PRCA (Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association), which Headings says makes it more exciting than ever. Planning began nearly a year in advance, and the final three weeks before the show have been packed with the final preparations of everything from the arena dirt and chutes, to the VIP booths.
