Family Safety Fair coming to Watford City on Jan. 22

“We live in a happy valley. Everybody makes good money and everybody’s always willing to help the other person. But if something happens, are we really prepared?” says Karolin Jappe, McKenzie County Emergency Management, of the Family Safety Fair being held on Saturday, Jan. 22, at the Rough Rider Center in Watford City from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
If you’ve lived in Watford City long enough, then you’ve probably realized that it’s an area prone to natural disasters.
Be that as it may, if there’s one thing Jappe cares about, it’s safety. And being prepared for the worst case scenario when disaster does strike.
“Where I grew up, we never had natural disasters like we do today,” she says. “It’s totally different.”
At the Jan. 22 event, Jappe says there will be a multitude of activities for families and children to partake in.
