From Texas to Watford City

From Texas to Watford City

When Caitlin Jordan moved from Kountze, Texas, to Watford City, N.D., in 2014, she knew it held a better opportunity. But what she didn’t know is that she would stay long-term.
“Where I’m from the population is about 2,000 people, a real small town,  about 25 miles from Beaumont,” says Jordan, of her hometown.
While Watford City not only held a chance for a better quality of life, the community’s response to a tragedy that happened to Jordan’s family earlier this year sold her on staying in western North Dakota.
“Watford City seems safe, it’s good money and everybody is super nice,” she says. “It’s just a really good town to raise a family.”
