Healthcare system mandates COVID vaccine for employees

All employees of the McKenzie County Healthcare Systems, Inc. (MCHS) are being required to receive the COVID-19 vaccination by Dec. 5, in order to continue working at the facility.
According to Dan Kelly, MCHS CEO, all staff members, as well as contracted staff, licensed practioners, students, trainees, volunteers and healthcare system board members, were notified of the vaccination mandate on Nov. 10.
Kelly says that the healthcare system is following the Biden-Harris administration’s requirement that all healthcare facilities that participate in the Medicare and Medicaid Program must have their staff vaccinated. The only exception to the vaccination mandate for MCHS employees and staff are those who have been granted a waiver due to medical or religious reasons.
