Hwy. 2 fatal rollover
On April 3, at 11:44 p.m. a Chevrolet Silverado heading east on Hwy. 2 near mile marker 115, struck ice on the highway. The driver lost control and the vehicle entered the median, and rolled. The three occupants of the vehicle were not wearing seatbelts and were ejected during the accident. The two girls, aged 12 and 13, were pronounced dead at the scene. The 34 year-old driver was transported in serious condition to a local medical center.
Ward County Sheriff’s Office, Montrail County Sheriff’s Office, Berthold Ambulance, Berthold Fire, and the North Dakota Highway Patrol all responded to the scene. The investigation is ongoing.
