In honor of National Agriculture Week, a McKenzie County fourth-generation rancher shares his love of agricultural life

For four generations, the Stenberg family has ranched and farmed their land in north-central McKenzie County. It all started when Carl Stenberg homesteaded the land in 1906. His son, Chris, took over after that before handing the reins down to his son Carlyle.
Titus Stenberg, the fourth generational member of the clan to take on the ranch, said “It is pretty neat to be able to do this with my dad; to work on the same land that my great-grandfather homesteaded in 1906,”
He laughingly related how he had to make a resume in college and in his work history he had to figure out when he started working on the ranch. He finally decided on 1995, the year he turned seven.
