Lack of funding will limit county road projects in 2022

With limited funding available, the McKenzie County commissioners, during their regular meeting on Jan. 4, took a hard look at which projects they will be funding under its 2022 Capital Improvement Plan (CIP).
“We’re not going to do as many projects in 2022 as normal,” said Curt Huus, McKenzie County Planning and Zoning director after last Tuesday’s commission meeting. “We’re not set for any of the subsequent projects because of funding.”
With many bridge and road repair projects still needed to be done, the commissioners bounced thoughts back and forth about what should be the priority for the limited funds.
