Local banks take part in food bank give-away

You don’t need the excuse of spring cleaning to clear out your pantry of canned goods and foods that are perfectly good, but you know won’t eat. In honor of the holiday season, four local financial institutions known as BNC National Bank, Cornerstone Bank, Dakota West Credit Union and First International Bank & Trust are currently accepting food donations until Friday, Dec. 23.
The organized event is in accordance to the Reverse Advent Calendar and items gathered through the four establishments will be donated to the McKenzie County Food Pantry.
“One of my girls here at the bank was on Facebook and she came across this Reverse Advent Calendar and sent it to us as a group,” says Kathy Hagen, BNC National Bank branch manager. “She said, we should do this; it looks like fun.”
