Local high-speed chase ends in Buffalo Hills

Farmer Staff Reports

On April 29, 2023, a Watford City Police Officer (WCPO) observed a motorcyclist fail to stop at a stop sign when turning from 3rd  St. NE onto 4th Ave. NE in Watford City. It was later found that this motorcycle was a 2008 Suzuki GSX R750, which is a sports bike model, and the driver was 35 year-old Dustin Michael Chabrier.
After making the turn, the motorcyclist went eastbound on 4th Ave. and was heard rapidly shifting through its gears.
The WCPO activated his radar and observed Chabrier’s speed at nearly 100 mph in the 25 mph speed limit area. This area of town has a number of crosswalks and many pedestrians at the time of the incident and the officer noted that the weather was very nice and, even though it was 9:50 p.m. on a Saturday night, there were many civilians still out in their yards and on walks.
