MCF presents the top 10 stories of 2021: Drought hits county farmers and ranchers

This week’s edition features stories one through four of the McKenzie County Farmer’s top ten stories of 2021.
After low snowfall in the winter of 2020 and little moisture heading into planting season, McKenzie County farmers and ranchers knew that unless they received some very significant moisture, it was not going to be a pretty year.
According to the March 2021 U.S. Drought Monitor Index, 84.5 percent of North Dakota was dealing with a severe drought, while McKenzie County was in the extreme drought category.
