MCF Update: More information released surrounding 6 year-old’s death in Watford City

Julian Castro Montoya has been charged with a Class C Felony for Negligent Homicide with a Child Victim. He has also been charged with driving without a license.
The victim’s name has been released by the family as Ian Matteo Garcia Turcios, who went by Matteo. He was six years old.
On April 8, Matteo was riding his bike between the garages at his apartment complex. According to a televised interview with his aunt, Lisbeth Short, Matteo’s father was with him at the time.
According to documents filed with McKenzie County Courts, at 6:50 p.m. officers responded to a call about a vehicle striking a child at the Madison Heights apartments, in the 1200 block of Main Street in Watford City.
