A 63-mile, 23-inch pipeline that will add an additional 250 million cubic feet per day takeaway capacity for the Bakken is projected to be completed by the end of 2020.
The North Bakken Expansion project, which is being developed by WBI Energy at a cost of $260 million, will connect the company’s Tioga Compressor Station with the Northern Border Pipeline southeast of Watford City. The project also includes the construction of 30 miles of 12-inch natural gas pipeline looping in Mountrail, Williams and Burke counties, and a new compressor station, the Elkhorn Creek Compressor Station, at the new interconnection point south of Watford City.
