North Dakota’s legislative session is now in its final three weeks, and a major debate continues between the House and Senate regarding how to handle tax relief.
The House bill contains a mix of property tax and income tax reductions, but the plan for a flat tax rate was a signature feature. Senate proposals have had a larger focus on property tax reductions. Both chambers are controlled by strong Republican majorities.

They got rid of the flat tax completely…and then they put in a bunch of property tax relief that they wanted.”
