North Dakota’s Hoeven eyes tricky farm bill

U.S. Senator John Hoeven (R-North Dakota) believes the 2023 Farm Bill will eventually come together, but progress has been slow. That’s because nothing is simple, and the stakes are high.
“It’s got to be done right. Title 1 is the commodity (issue), and that’s the actual heart and soul of the farm bill. That’s crop insurance, which is a farmer’s number one risk management tool, and it’s the programs that make sure that we continue have a family-based farming and ranching system in this country that benefits every single American every single day with the lowest-cost, highest-quality food supply in the world.”
