The McKenzie County Planning and Zoning Committee met on Dec. 11, and among the items discussed was a message to the public to encourage them to get involved in the planning and zoning process.
Currently there is an effort underway to go over the entirety of the zoning laws and review them and make changes and updates before they are voted on in the coming year.
One item that has recently been discussed, and was brought up again during the December meeting, was regarding the determination of the requirements set by the county for property owners in regards to the material used to tie private driveways into county roads.
Currently it reads, “All approaches to private property shall be graveled with Class 13 aggregate to a compacted depth of two inches. Gravel shall extend from the edge of the roadway to the property line.”
