Food Pantry receives funds for a walk-in freezer from ConocoPhillips

The McKenzie County Food Pantry (MCFP) recently told the Farmer that their greatest need was for a walk-in freezer, and on Monday, Dec. 11, they were excited to announce that they had been given the funds to purchase one by ConocoPhillips.
During the interview he did with the Farmer two weeks ago, volunteer Mitch Haugeberg explained, “We are always short of freezer space, and I mean always, between handout days. Our long-term goal is to have a food pantry here in Watford that has a walk-in cooler or freezer...We haven’t had to recently, but in the past we have had to use the high school’s freezer, the Rough Rider Center Freezer, the extension office freezer, even the freezers and coolers in people’s houses. We find places, but it is hard.”
