Last week Kirsten Baesler, North Dakota state school superintendent, congratulated 16 North Dakota teachers, including Alexandria Rizzo of Alexander, who were recognized as the 2021 County Teachers of the Year, saying they represent the best of public education in the state.
“We are blessed to have teachers of this quality in our schools, especially during this uncertain pandemic time when instructional creativity and innovation are essential,” says Baesler.
Rizzo, who was selected as McKenzie County’s Teacher of the Year, teaches Pre-kindergarten through 12 grade science, technology, engineering, arts, mathematics and robotics at Alexander Public School District No. 2.
“I was surprised and excited at the same time,” says Rizzo of being named McKenzie County Teacher of the Year.
