U.S. Senator John Hoeven, (R-ND) met with members of various North Dakota grazing associations, U.S. Forest Service representatives, and representatives of McKenzie County government to discuss challenges facing the North Dakota agricultural industry.
One of the topics that received a lot of attention was the dwindling funding given to manage weeds and pests that directly impact the farming and ranching that happens within the state.
Jeff Bunn, President of Sheyenne Grazing Association, was quick to spearhead the problem they have been having with paying for the pesticides needed to not only curtail the invasive and detrimental plant species, but also protect their herds from harmful pests that can kill their animals.
