Watford City Airport to reopen on Oct. 1

“I’m awfully excited as I know a lot of other airport users are excited to get the airport opened back up,” says Luke Taylor, Watford City Municipal Airport manager.
After being closed since April, the Watford City Municipal Airport is scheduled to reopen on Oct. 1.
For the last six months, construction has been underway on the airport runway as it underwent its second and final phase of the largest reconstructive makeover the Watford City Municipal Airport has ever seen.
“On Oct. 1, the runway, parallel taxiway and all the runway taxi lights will be ready and functioning,” Taylor says. “We went from a 4,400-foot to a 6,550-foot runway.”
