Williston Police Department concludes investigation of officer involved shooting

The Williston Police Department has released the details of a shooting that took place near Walmart on Dec. 9, involving two officers and one suspect.
Police Officers Tyler Iwen and Jordan Patton observed a vehicle at 3:40 a.m. stopped in the intersection of 2nd Ave. West and 42nd St. West, at the intersection northeast of Walmart and Doc Holiday’s Roadhouse.
The officers stopped to help the motorist and Officer Iwen approached the car on the driver’s side to contact the male in the driver’s seat. The driver was identified as 30 year-old Eric Obregon Jr. of Williston, N.D.
Patton approached the vehicle to help push it out of the roadway, but upon approach Officer Patton recognized Obregon who had active arrest warrants for terrorizing, domestic violence, and contempt of court, and instructed Obregon to step out of the vehicle.
