Barbara Tschetter

Barbara Jean Tschetter, 90, of Spearfish S.D., died Monday, Oct. 23, 2017, with her family by her side, at the David M. Dorsett Healthcare Center.
Barbara was born in Sioux Falls S.D. on Sept. 3, 1927, the daughter of Edward Klein Graff and Berdine Frances (Campbell) Graff.
She grew up in Sioux Falls, attending Washington High School and graduating in 1945. She was active in Drama Club and the Library Club. Later she attended Yankton College.
Growing up she liked tap dancing, ice skating, swimming, acting in plays and horseback riding.
On Nov. 9, 1946, Barbara married the love of her life Roy William (Bill) Tschetter in Yankton S.D. They lived in Vermillion, S.D., Gettysburg, S.D., McLaughlin, S.D., Watford City, N.D. and Rapid City, S.D.
She stayed at home raising their children and later worked with Bill at his law office, the Redwood Motel in Wasta, S.D., Geyerman’s Dress Shop, Paper Warehouse and St. Elizabeth Seton School cafeteria all in Rapid City. She loved running their mini-doughnut wagon and Corn Crib Concession stand with her family.
Barbara loved music, dancing, golfing, walking on her hands and kicking footballs with her grandkids. She attended countless band concerts and athletic events, while keeping the referees in check. She wouldn’t let a colorful joke pass her by without a good laugh. She felt blessed to have so many children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was an active member of Blessed Sacrament Church and Rimrock Community Club and found joy in participating in the Red Hat society activities in Rapid City. Barbara loved to travel and some of her favorite trips were to Arizona, California, Florida, Washington D.C., New York, London and Hawaii.
She was artistically talented and enjoyed painting, ceramics, copper tooling, and crocheting. She also illustrated books authored by her husband.
Even though she battled Alzheimer’s disease in her later years, she never lost her sense of humor and the love for her own family as well as her “Dorsett Healthcare Family.” Her beautiful smile will remain in all the hearts she touched.
Barbara is survived by her sister, Bonnie Feay, Papillion, Neb.;  sister-in-law, Dee Tschetter, Belle Fourche, S.D.; brother-in-law, Capt.
