Cory Prestangen
Cory Lane Prestangen was born on Feb. 17, 1962, to Einar and Sonja Prestangen in Watford City, N.D. He attended Watford City schools and graduated in 1980.
After high school he attended UND at Grand Forks and graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering. He began his career in texas with Owens Corning Fiberglass.
In 1988, he moved to New Jersey, where he worked for Mobil, Chevron and BASF in plastics research and development.
After several years of marriage, he was divorced and then chose to move closer to home and family, so he went back west to St. Paul, Minn., where he joined 3M.
He enjoyed most sports - cross country skiing, photography and reading.
Cory passed away on Aug. 12, 2024. He is survived by his partner, Carrie; his parents, Einer and Sonja; brothers, Scott (Kim), Darrin (Melissa), Kyle (Brenda); niece, Nicole Patrick; nephews, Ryan, Sean and Brian Prestangen; great-niece, Cadence Patrick; great-nephew, Erik Prestangen; grandmother, Olga Hovet; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
A family celebration of life will be held at a later date.
