The Alexander Comets went to Mohall last Friday night and earned a 20-12 victory. Alexander never fell behind, but Mohall-Lansford-Sherwood stayed within striking distance the whole way. The Comets relied heavily on their rushing game as they ran the football 43 times for 335 yards and three touchdowns. It was a balanced attack led by senior Jordan Hernandez who ran for 198 yards, including a 44-yard touchdown.
“We knew going into the year we had some big shoes to fill, losing nine kids to graduation,” said second-year Alexander head coach, Trey Jacobson. “The kids returning knew it too and took it upon themselves to get together during the offseason and get better.”
