Cluchie qualifies for state in 100 meter dash

Dakota Cluchie became the first member of the Watford City boys track team to qualify for the 2021 State Track Meet as he turned in a time of 11.24 to take eighth place at the Karlgaard Invitational in Bismarck on Thursday, April 22.
“Getting the 100 qualified will now allow Dakota to work on his 300 meter hurdles,” stated Dave Gumke, boys head coach. “He has a little bit more work to do to qualify the 200 meter dash, while Tanner Edwards ran very well in the 1,600 run going sub-five minutes.”
The Watford City girls team competed very well with first place finishes by Hayley Ogle in the 800 meter run, Annie Dennis in the 100 meter hurdles, while the 1,600 meter relay team also finished in first place at Bismarck.
