Alexander’s six-game winning streak came to an end last Friday as they lost to No. 4 Westhope-Newburg-Glenburn (W-N-G) 54-19.
W-N-G started their first two drives with outstanding field position, beginning at the Alexander two-yard line and then on the 25-yard line. Walker Braaten got his first touchdown of the game on the first play of the first drive. The second scoring drive took six plays as Alexander’s defense made some plays until Braaten broke loose for an 11-yard TD run. The Sioux’s next drive started at their own 48-yard line and ended with a 41-yard TD run by Maddox Juntunen. W-N-G took a 26-0 lead on Juntunen’s second rushing TD.
