In their final year of playing Class B baseball, Watford City’s goal was to make it to the State Class B Baseball Tournament. But that would not happen as the Wolves came up just one run short against Des Lacs-Burlington in the Region VII title game on Tuesday, May 22.
The Wolves had fallen to the Lakers in their first round action of the tournament, 5-3, before knocking off Stanley, 14-4.
And then Watford City battled back to beat Mohall-Lansford-Sherwood-Glenburn-Kenmare-Bowbells to advance to the title game against Des Lacs-Burlington.
“Our guys showed a lot of resiliency on Monday after coming from a 6-0 deficit to defeat Mohall-Lansford-Sherwood-Glenburn-Kenmare-Bowbells, 11-8,” stated Pat Spacher, Wolves coach.
