After Team ND went to the Rodeo Nationals last year missing a key player from McKenzie County, Coy Lane Hepper, the team ended up in 3rd place in the nation and now four Watford City area junior high rodeo contestants have qualified to go to the Nationals Rodeo in Perry, Ga., on June 19-26.
“We can’t help to think that our special cowboy had a hand in these athletes’ success,” says Annalisa Wagoner, a rodeo mom. “Team ND is going to carry on that success this year.”
After contestants earned their spots at the State Finals in May, the top four athletes from 44 states, five Canadian provinces, Australia, Mexico and New Zealand in all 14 NJHFR events and 16 NHSFR events are competing for a World Championship Title.
