High school rodeo team wraps up season

The Watford City High School Rodeo Club wrapped up its regular season this past weekend when the team competed in rodeos in Bismarck and New Salem.
As a result of their performances throughout the season, several team members have qualified for the State High School Finals Rodeo, which will be held June 15 through 17 in Bowman.
Individuals who were in the top 24 across the state and earned a trip to the Finals are Gus Nelson in bareback riding and team roping; Hayes Feilmeier in boys cutting, steer wrestling and tie down roping; Samantha Jorgenson in barrel racing, team roping, breakaway roping, cutting and goat tying; Sadie Kieson in cow cutting, pole bending, team roping, barrel racing and breakaway roping; Joe Nelson in team roping and steer wrestling; Marni Irwin in barrel racing and pole bending; Kelby Indergard in team roping; Rory Irwin in team roping; Laurel Nelson in team roping; Dalton Wright in bull riding and Saige Feilmeier in cow cutting.
