It was standing room only at the McKenzie County Fairgrounds outdoor arena as a large crowd turned out to watch some of the best cowboys and cowgirls compete in this year’s McKenzie County Fair Rodeo on Saturday, June 18.
And when the dust finally settled, two county cowboys came out on top of the competitors as Eli Leppell of Keene won the bull riding and Tyrus Ashley of Mandaree won the saddle bronc competitions.
Leppell pocketed $604.24 as he scored 74 points on his eight-second ride, while Ashley scored 65 points on his ride to win $515.20.
