Spikers move to post season action

The Watford City varsity volleyball team split in its final two matches in regular season play this past week was the Wolves defeated Washburn, 3-1, before falling to Heart River, 3-0.
This week, the Wolves who finished their regular season play with a 6-7 dual record and a 13-16 overall record, will be competing in the District 15 Tournament at the Watford City High School Gymnasium. The tournament, which began on Monday, will conclude on Thursday.
Teams competing in the District Tournament include Watford City, Williston Trinity Christian, Trenton, New Town, Parshall and White Shield.

Watford City 3, Washburn 1
Watford City bested Washburn 3-1 last Tuesday as the Wolves took the first two games, 25-21 and 25-15, before losing the third game of the match, 29-27. But the Wolves rebounded to take the fourth, and deciding game, 25-19.
Tessa Dwyer led the Wolves with seven service aces, while
Amanda Mogen and Ricki Lindley had 13 kills each. Tori Hopkins led Watford City with 29 assists, while Lindley had three blocks and Mogen had 25 digs.

Heart River 3, Watford City 0
Watford City was no match for a hard-hitting Heart River team as the Cougars rolled over the Wolves, 3-0, last Thursday.
The Cougars downed the Wolves in three quick games by scores of 25-15, 25-20 and 25-21.
Amanda Mogen led the Wolves with 16 kills, while Tori Hopkins had 19 assists. Defensively, Mogen had two blocks and 13 digs.
