Watford City’s varsity volleyball team saw its 2021 season come to a close as the Wolves fell to Mandan, 3-1, in loser-out play at the WDA Tournament held at the Rough Rider Center on Friday, Nov. 12.
The Wolves pulled off a big upset as Watford City defeated Minot, 3-2, in the WDA play-in game on Thursday, Nov. 4.
But the Wolves ran into a buzzsaw in the tournament’s opening round of play as Bismarck High, the No. 2-ranked team in the WDA, rolled over Watford City in three sets.
With the two losses, the Wolves ended their season with a 5-25 overall record, while going 2-18 in WDA play.
