It was a season to remember for the 2023 Alexander Comets football team as they went 8-2 and hosted a playoff game. For three seniors, it was made extra memorable as the North Dakota High School Coaches Association (NDHSCA) gave them statewide recogntion.
Keaton Wehrman was named to the All-State first team as a defensive lineman. Ryan Pingel was named to the All-State first team as a linebacker. Quarterback Beau Rider was named to the All-State second team.
“’Mr. Reliable’ is what I’ve called Keaton his whole career here in Alexander,” said head coach Trey Jacobson. “He’s very savvy with his ability to set the edge and diagnose what opposing offenses are trying to accomplish. When we need a big stop, Number 14 always seems to show up. He was involved in seven turnovers throughout the season and played a major role in disrupting opposing offenses.”
