Watford to host State Legion Tournament

Watford City’s American Legion baseball team will be hosting the North Dakota Class A State American Legion Baseball Tournament at the Rough Rider Field this week.
The tournament opens on Friday, July 29, and will conclude with the championship game at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 2.
In addition to Watford City, other teams competing in the tournament will include Williston, Wahpeton, Casselton, the Bismarck Senators, the Bismarck Reps, the Fargo Jets and Kindred.
The Walleye, who are the No. 4 team from the west, will take on Kindred, the No. 1 team from the east, at 7 p.m. on Friday.
The Walleye went 1-2 at the West Region Tournament in Bismarck this past week.
Watford City downed Dickinson, 13-6, in the tournament play-in game on July 20, before falling to Mandan, 4-3, and the Bismarck Capitals, 5-4, to be eliminated from the tournament.
